Cleaning for Peace of Mind!

Laundry
An easy way to keep the laundry from piling up is to do a load a day, fold and then put it away. Another great tip is to have set days for certain items. For example, on Mondays I was the sheets and the towels so I never question when they need to be washed!

Organizing the clothes
A great tip I learned years ago to help kids with clothes for school is to purchase a hanging compartment organizer. Then every Sunday you help your kids pick out school clothes for the upcoming week. That way each day they have an outfit, underwear, socks and shoes all ready to go. No need to rummage through the laundry for a shirt or ask if something matches; it’s all be taken care! Talk about using your time effectively!

Cleaning
Doing something every day will help keep your house under control. I like to have specific days for article task. For example, on Monday I do laundry, vacuum, mop and straighten the house. Tuesday I clean the bathrooms and steam clothes, Wednesday I clean the kitchen, on Thursday and Friday I do more laundry and straighten the house all over again! It’s a never ending cycle, however, since I spend a little time every day, it’s not so overwhelming.

If you have children, it’s never too early to get them started in the process. You can assign cleaning tasks according to age and capabilities. If everyone is cleaning together, there may not be as much objections. Another great way to keep tasks straight is to create 3x5 cards with specific task. Label the cards for each day of the week and then assign the cards to the kids. That way they know exactly what has to be done on specific days. Plus, they will learn tons of valuable lessons and you’ll have a clean house!
